I write this week’s Sunday Stories hidden in the shade. It is hotter than the sun this weekend in Cardiff which is great but I have pale skin and I wear a lot of black (think a Wednesday Addams vibe). I’ve forgotten how to be summery. Don’t get me wrong though I’m very grateful for this beautiful weather. It’s so uplifting being able to enjoy lovely lunchtime walks and sit out on the balcony until late evening. As another week blurs into the next, here’s what I’ve been enjoying over the last seven days.

Reading

This week I feel like I haven’t spent a great deal of time just reading. I need more hours in the day, please! However, I did read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and Saltwater by Jessica Andrews which I enjoyed, for very different reasons. Not sure what I fancy reading next, I’m in one of those moods where I don’t know what’s going to tickle my pickle. Open to suggestions if you have any…

Watching

As recommended by one of my lovely friends, I’ve started watching Hollywood on Netflix. I’m 100% obsessed with the setting (honestly can’t get enough of old school Hollywood glam) however I’m not entirely invested in the characters yet. Hoping that will come as I watch more, although I will say I think Jim Parsons is great in it!

Maintaining my super relevant and recent recommendations, I watched You’ve Got Mail for the billionth time last night. It is just the perfect movie. You can’t fault it – flawless writing and 90’s nostalgia. Might watch it again now.

Listening

I’ve had the Get A ‘Proper’ Job podcast downloaded for ages so this week I started working through the series on my walks. The podcast talks to creatives about the highs and lows of working in the creative industry. It’s both interesting and inspiring, especially as I am starting to stretch my creative wings, if you will. The podcast is made by Creative Cardiff so it was especially great to hear local people talking about their experiences.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s Sunday Stories. Tell me yours in the comments, how’s your week been? What have you been enjoying?

Until next time my friends!
